The Belmont Braves lost against the Cassville Comets back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Belmont fell 39-31 to Cassville. Belmont has struggled against Cassville recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Belmont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Hardyman, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Hardyman scored a full 35.5% of Belmont's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Riechers, who scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds.
Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cassville, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Belmont will head out on the road to face off against Benton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Benton comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Cassville, they will be playing at home against Shullsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
