2A District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 2A District 2 this week, Union County beat Hancock County 43-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Owensboro Catholic made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,578 from 4,992. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-34 victory over Butler County last week.
Hancock County's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Koert Morris has thrown for 406 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Beau Case has 8 catches for 212 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Union County takes on the Bears. As it stands, Steven Carter's team is in first, while Butler County is in fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Braves take on Ryan Emmick's team. Union County has allowed 90 points this season, while the Bears have given up 85.
