Presque Isle scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Mount Desert Island Trojans by a score of 71-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (58), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Presque Isle moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Mount Desert Island, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Presque Isle won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ellsworth at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Presque Isle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Ellsworth likes a good challenge. Mount Desert Island will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Houlton at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
