Madison Central is a perfect 4-0 against Franklin County since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Madison Central will be playing at home against Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. Madison Central will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Madison Central will bounce into Friday's game after beating Woodford County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Madison Central walked away with an 8-4 win over Woodford County on Thursday.
Kate Drury made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Madison Central got a great performance from Lindsey Colegrove as she pitched five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. What's more, Colegrove posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

Back at the plate, Devan Stewart was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lina Guerra, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Madison Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodford County only posted a batting average of .208.
Meanwhile, Franklin County got the win against Frankfort on Thursday by a conclusive 22-3. Considering the Flyers have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
R Landers was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Franklin County let Avery Lofton and Lillie Pollard run wild. Lofton went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Pollard scored three runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. That stolen base marked the first that Pollard snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Kelly, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Madison Central pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Madison Central hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Franklin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
