Puyallup's win came from a few key players Sumner will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mal Mal Akuffo, who rushed for 60 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Noah Smith was another key player, throwing for 215 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes.
Puyallup didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jasiah Denmark.

Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Sumner has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 266.4 rushing yards per game. Sumner was taken down by Puyallup 58-22 in their previous matchup back in October. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Spartans were down 31-0.
