West Valley is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will take on the San Jacinto Tigers at 4:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, West Valley came up short against Paloma Valley and fell 3-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Valley was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Paloma Valley work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-17, 25-20, 19-25, 25-19.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nile Ledda, who had 24 digs and three aces. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games he's played. Diego Allievi was another key player, getting 13 digs and 12 kills.
Meanwhile, San Jacinto entered their tilt with Hemet on Tuesday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1.
San Jacinto walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 25-13.
West Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for San Jacinto, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
West Valley came up short against San Jacinto in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can West Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
