The Seton Catholic Sentinels entered their tilt with the Westwood Warriors with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Seton Catholic claimed a resounding 62-31 win over Westwood on the road. Given Seton Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Westwood is ranked 85th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Padilla, who scored 10 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. The contest was Padilla's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Julian Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Seton Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Westwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Seton Catholic will be playing at home against Valley Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Valley Vista's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Westwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Shadow Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Shadow Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday.
