Things haven't been easy for Weiss, and their contest on Thursday only extended their streak of losses to six. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-23 punch to the gut against Elgin on Thursday. The state rankings had actually given Weiss a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Elgin found Elgin's leader in underclassman sophomore Peter Mcfarlin, who picked up 65 yards on the ground and accumulated 121 passing yards. Sophomore Peter Mcfarlin was in the mix, too, providing Elgin with two touchdowns.
Weiss are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-6. The win got Elgin back to even at 3-3.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Weiss will stay at home next week against Cedar Creek at 7:30 PM. Weiss have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Cedar Creek are surely hoping to exploit. Elgin will take on Brenham at home at 7:30 PM.
