The Pawnee Heights Tigers will challenge the South Barber Chieftains on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Pawnee Heights is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Cheylin, posting a 51-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Cody Holste was his usual excellent self, rushing for 251 yards and five scores on only 15 carries. Those 251 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Ibarra, who rushed for 140 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pawnee Heights was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 391 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Another reason for the win was Pawnee Heights' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Helder Ibarra refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Holste got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for South Barber against Golden Plains on Friday as the team secured a 54-8 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Chieftains' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 79th).
South Barber's win came from a few key players Pawnee Heights will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Austin Swonger, who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 117 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss). Another player making a difference was Cody Shklar, who rushed for 83 yards and three scores on only nine carries.
South Barber didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Garen Cantrell and Steele Smith. Smith got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Pawnee Heights' record now sits at 6-4. As for South Barber, their record is now 8-1.
Pawnee Heights took a serious blow against South Barber when the teams last played back in October, falling 58-12. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Swonger, who threw for 308 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 119 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.
