Baseball Recap: Walton-Verona Has No Trouble Against Owen County

Walton-Verona won the last time they faced Owen County and things went their way on Monday too. The Bearcats were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Rebels. With that victory, the Bearcats brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Bronson Corpus was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Kainan Held also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Walton-Verona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owen County only posted a batting average of .067.

The win made it two in a row for Walton-Verona and bumps their season record up to 17-12. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs. As for Owen County, they moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
