Garfield has gone 7-2 against South Gate recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Garfield comes in on four and South Gate on three.
Garfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 45-30 win over South East on Friday. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly 15 points.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Angel Jimenez and Mario Nunez. Jimenez rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown on only five carries while Nunez rushed for 59 yards and one score.
Garfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 386 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Meanwhile, South Gate didn't have too much trouble with Bell on Friday as they won 34-19. The Rams pushed the score to 34-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.
South Gate's win came from a few key players Garfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Michael Gonzalez, who threw for 232 yards and a pair of TDs on only 17 passes. Ephaunie Lewis also helped out as he racked up 112 receiving yards.

Garfield's record now sits at 5-2. As for South Gate, their record is now an identical 5-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Garfield has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 307.1 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for South Gate, though, as they've been averaging only 89.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Garfield was able to grind out a solid victory over South Gate when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 41-30. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
