The Woodville Eagles were the 64-52 winner over the Diboll Lumberjacks when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Woodville fell to the Lumberjacks 66-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Diboll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malachai Mitchell, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mitchell hasn't dropped below three steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Latavian Forney, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Woodville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Diboll, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodville will take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Diboll, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Red Devils at 8:00 p.m.
