Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Konos Academy). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 victory over the New Creation Christian Academy Crusaders on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Condor, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why New Creation Christian Academy lost, don't look at Shiloh Pitney. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points and five rebounds. Pitney is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Elisabeth Metz was another key player, putting up four points along with seven boards and six steals.

Konos Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for New Creation Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Konos Academy will host St. Mary's Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Creation Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Creekside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. This will be the Crusaders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
