The Governor Mifflin Mustangs took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (and then some). They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-19 win over Boyertown. With Governor Mifflin ahead 33-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Despite the defeat, Boyertown saw an underclassman step up: Tessa Wolfe scored 6 points along with 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Weaver, who scored 13 points.
Governor Mifflin's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Boyertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Governor Mifflin will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Berks Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Boyertown, they will be playing at home against Daniel Boone at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
