If Lafayette County was expecting to get some payback for the 55-6 defeat against Mineral Springs the last time they met in October of last year, then they were left disappointed. The game between them on Friday was on the verge of becoming a blowout, with the Cougars falling 42-22. Their loss continues a disappointing trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
They got scores from Calan Sanders, Robert Bailey, and KD Dedner. More help came courtesy of Runge Langston, who was good for nine tackles.
Lafayette County will square off against Mount Ida at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday. These teams are both seeking redemption after dropping matches that they were favored to win. Mineral Springs has the luxury of staying at home another week and will welcome Spring Hill at 7 p.m. ET. Unlike Mineral Springs, Spring Hill will be stumbling in off of a loss.
