Even though the Pelham Panthers scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, the Hueytown Golden Gophers still came out on top. Hueytown came out on top in a nail-biter against Pelham and snuck past 59-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hueytown.
Braylon Patton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Hueytown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Agee, who scored 13 points.
Hueytown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. As for Pelham, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hueytown will square off against Brookwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brookwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while Hueytown is ranked 65th). As for Pelham, they will head out on the road to face off against Marbury at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
