Volleyball Recap: Rhinelander Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Rhinelander came into Monday's match having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a set and slipped past the Hurley Northstars 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hodags also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

The win didn't come easy: Hurley scored at least nine points in every set. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 15-9.

Rhinelander had a senior duo take command as Tori Stella had 24 digs and nine aces and Kayla Skubal had 24 digs and two assists. Skubal is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Rhinelander was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Rhinelander's victory bumped their record up to 3-32. As for Hurley, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 13-7 record.

Rhinelander does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hurley, they will face off against Bessemer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
