The Tiverton Tigers can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They strolled past Prout with points to spare, taking the game 33-18. That 33-18 margin sets a new team best for Tiverton this season.
Tiverton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ellery Pacheco out in front who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna DelDeo, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Tiverton's victory bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Prout, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Tiverton will finish 2023 at home by hosting Rogers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Rogers is ranked 36th, while Tiverton is ranked 40th). Prout will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Cranston East at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Cranston East is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
