Eldorado has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Amplus Academy Archers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While Eldorado couldn't quite beat the Bengals on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 44-point defeat they were dealt on Wednesday. Eldorado fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 38-35. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eldorado in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Eldorado got a solid performance out of Ty'Teaira Foreman, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foreman has scored all season. Sara Torrico Lopez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Amplus Academy, who are still winless after their 15th contest. They had to suffer through a rough 54-7 loss at the hands of Cheyenne. Amplus Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.
Eldorado has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Amplus Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Eldorado strolled past the Archers in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 21-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eldorado since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
