Doniphan-Trumbull is 7-2 against Central City since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Central City Bison at 7:45 p.m. Doniphan-Trumbull has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 258 points over their last four games.
Doniphan-Trumbull has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season. They really took it to Kenesaw for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-23 win on the road. Given Doniphan-Trumbull's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Kenesaw is ranked 144th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Doniphan-Trumbull relied on the efforts of Jake Collinson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Ty Bennett, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for Collinson. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaedan Detamore, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Central City didn't have too much trouble with Minden on the road on Tuesday as they won 55-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Central City.
Doniphan-Trumbull's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37 points. As for Central City, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
