Southwestern has gone 9-1 against Clarksville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Southwestern Rebels will be taking part in a tournament against the Clarksville Generals at 11:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southwestern has three straight wins, Clarksville has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Last Friday, the stars were shining brightly for Southwestern in a 72-57 victory over Jac-Cen-Del. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Eagles are ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Landon Kidwell

02/16/24 @ Austin | 21 |
02/20/24 @ Charlestown | 20 |
12/07/24 vs Columbus East | 20 |
12/14/24 @ Batesville | 19 |
Southwestern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Kidwell, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Kidwell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Cook, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Clarksville scored the most points they've had this season last Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Eastern by a score of 82-79. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Generals have suffered since February 16th.
Southwestern will have to contain Ray McClendon as he made an impact in Clarksville's last game. He went 18 of 31 on his way to 48 points along with six rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, McClendon is now averaging an impressive 18.8 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Lee, who posted ten points and six rebounds.
Southwestern pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Clarksville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Southwestern beat Clarksville 56-47 when the teams last played back in February. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Clarksville's Jacob Seward, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for Southwestern to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
