Bladensburg has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Parkdale Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Bladensburg will be strutting in after a win while the Panthers will be coming in after a loss.
On Monday, Bladensburg sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 win over the Tigers.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Parkdale had to settle for a 51-49 loss against the Cavaliers on Monday.
Despite their loss, Parkdale saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mark Freeland, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Freeland is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last seven games he's played. anuel decker was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Bladensburg's victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11. As for Parkdale, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
Bladensburg was able to grind out a solid victory over the Panthers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 55-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bladensburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
