Given Canton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Clark County is ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Canton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Preston Brewer led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Brewer's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Oliver, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Canton's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Clark County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton will be staying on the road on January 9th to face off against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Clark County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monroe City at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th.
