After two games on the road, San Diego Jewish Academy is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Rock Academy Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully San Diego Jewish Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, San Diego Jewish Academy's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 52-41 victory over Guajome Park Academy. The win was just what San Diego Jewish Academy needed coming off of a 64-34 defeat in their prior match.
San Diego Jewish Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Feigenbaum led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jacob Rissman, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Rock Academy pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to High Tech SD. Rock Academy has struggled against High Tech SD recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Rock Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. David Whitley, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 11 rebounds, and ten blocks, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was Whitley's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Whitley, who scored 17 points.
San Diego Jewish Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Rock Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
San Diego Jewish Academy lost to Rock Academy at home by a decisive 63-48 margin in their previous meeting back in February. Thankfully for San Diego Jewish Academy, Micah Whitley (who scored 31 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
