This season hasn't been kind to the Jackpot Jaguars, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a 27-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carlin on Friday. If Jackpot hoped to take revenge for the 42-35 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Carlin can attribute much of their success to Caileigh Shilts, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shilts has scored all season. Mariah Urenda was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.
Jackpot bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.1 points per game. As for Carlin, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackpot won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Owyhee at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. As for Carlin, they will be playing at home against Round Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
