Union Grove's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 26-15 win over the Ore City Rebels. The Lions' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Union Grove found their leader in sophomore Brycen Porter, who rushed for 35 yards and one score, and also threw for 105 yards and one touchdown.

Union Grove didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Andy Peck and Ty Cook. With that strong performance, Cook is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game.

Union Grove's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Ore City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Union Grove and Ore City will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Lions see the field they'll take on Harleton at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Ore City, their break will end when they face Elysian Fields at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
