1A District 6 recap November 5, 2013
Trenton extended the longest winning streak in 1A District 6 this week by beating Bronson, 48-16. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Tigers.
Hawthorne fell to Bell 52-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Austin Ritchey was a passing and rushing force as the Bulldogs beat the Hornets.
Ritchey was a beast in the backfield as Bell topped Hawthorne.
Ritchey was the best running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 267 yards as Joey Whittington's team defeated Potter's House Christian. Teammate Justin Terry added to the ground attack by rushing for 128 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Bryce Jenkins of the Red Flashes is the league leader in passing yards this season with 859. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Bruce Thomas. The Bell star has 11 catches for 298 yards.
Hilliard and the Lions played the closest game in the league this week, with Hilliard eventually emerging with a 7-6 victory. Armani Scott ran for 66 yards and caught 1 pass for 20 yards in the win.
