Softball Recap: Brookhaven's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Brookhaven won the last time they faced Natchez and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 16-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jayonna Pendleton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedi Dickey, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Brookhaven was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.

Brookhaven moved to 13-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Natchez, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Brookhaven wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 19-0 win against Laurel on the 8th. As for Natchez, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against South Jones on the 9th.
