Football Recap: Ryan Ricker Leads Leominster's Defense on Friday

Leominster won the last time they faced Westborough and Osiris Lopez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Blue Devils simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rangers 44-6 thanks in part to Lopez, who threw for 240 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 73 yards on only six carries. His passing game has become a key predictor of Leominster's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Leominster didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ryan Ricker, Elijah Rivera, and Jonah Babcock picked up one apiece. Babcock got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Leominster is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.4 points over those games. As for Westborough, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-7.
