The Sunnyside Blue Devils can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Ironwood Ridge on the road to the tune of 70-41. Given Sunnyside's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Ironwood Ridge is ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sunnyside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nayeli Nidez-Acu?a led the charge by scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Nidez-Acu?a is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Janae Pritchett, who scored 23 points along with two steals.
Ironwood Ridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaidyn Saucedo, who scored 21 points along with three steals, and Molly Walter who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Walter is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunnyside will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Rincon/University at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
