Mark Keppel hasn't had much luck against Schurr recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Aztecs are taking a road trip to take on the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Mark Keppel got their first taste of in-conference action back in March and they started things off strong. They blew past San Gabriel 13-1. The Aztecs not only won back in March, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2025 (when they won 15-0).

Isabella Valdez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Shalia Futch also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Mark Keppel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Schurr came tearing into Saturday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Mustangs. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Sophia De Santiago made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Sarah Romero was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Bethany Vallin was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Mark Keppel's record now sits at 2-5. As for Schurr, their record is now 16-4.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mark Keppel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400. However, it's not like Schurr struggles in that department as they've averaged .416. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mark Keppel suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Schurr when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Aztecs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
