The HomeSchool Resource Center Patriots's six-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Heritage Christian 62-60. The victory was just what HomeSchool Resource Center needed coming off of a 67-43 defeat in their prior contest.
HomeSchool Resource Center got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Fredrick Jefferson out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. Jefferson set a new season high mark in blocks with four. Caleb Baldridge was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds.
Defeat or not, Heritage Christian got some senior leadership from Aaron Regnerus who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds and Ryan Regnerus who scored 20 points along with three steals. The match was Regnerus' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivan Smits, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
HomeSchool Resource Center's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8. As for Heritage Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
HomeSchool Resource Center won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Calumet Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Calumet Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.9 points per game. Heritage Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hammond Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hammond Baptist is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
