Even though the Marion-Franklin Red Devils scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, the Eastmoor Academy Warriors still came out on top. Eastmoor Academy slipped by Marion-Franklin 66-65. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eastmoor Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Eastmoor Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was King Moody out in front who scored 19 points. Moody continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of James Nowell, who scored 14 points.
Eastmoor Academy pushed their record up to 5-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Marion-Franklin, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Eastmoor Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Africentric Early College at 7:00 p.m. As for Marion-Franklin, they will head out on the road to square off against Briggs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
