The Bayshore Christian Faith Warriors will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Brandon Academy Scorpions at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th. Bayshore Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
With a playoff game on the line, Bayshore Christian rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Falcons 75-34 on the road. Bayshore Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Jace Jreisat was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tylan Lewis, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Brandon Academy can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They really took it to Academy at the Lakes for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-32 victory at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Brandon Academy.
Shavon Birch and Jeremiah McNeely were among the main playmakers for Brandon Academy as the former dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds and the latter scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Birch has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 15 times he's played. Will Hawes was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Bayshore Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-19. As for Brandon Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.
Bayshore Christian might still be hurting after the 64-40 loss they got from Brandon Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Birch, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 rebounds.
