The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against J.H. Rose as Cardinal Gibbons made off with a 61-38 victory. With Cardinal Gibbons ahead 36-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Leading Cardinal Gibbons to victory were Charlotte Fusco and Tessa Gladieux. Fusco scored 12 points along with six steals, while Gladieux scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The contest was Gladieux's third in a row with at least ten points. Kathryn Vanburik was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.
J.H. Rose lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cameron Daise, who scored 13 points. Daise scored a full 34.2% of J.H. Rose's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Congleton, who scored 12 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Cardinal Gibbons and bumps their season record up to 4-5. As for J.H. Rose, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Cardinal Gibbons will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Green Level at 12:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Hopefully Green Level focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Friday. J.H. Rose will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northside - Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
