The Kofa Kings had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 46-45 win over Copper Canyon. That's another feather in the cap for Kofa, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kofa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calvin Barber led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Barber has scored at least 25% of Kofa's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Braveheart, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Kofa has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 3-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Copper Canyon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Coincidentally, Kofa and Copper Canyon will both be playing Willow Canyon the next time they take the court. Copper Canyon will head out to face Willow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Kofa will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
