Inter-County - Silver recap September 17, 2013
Tussey Mountain scaled the state rankings by moving to 357 from 431 this week, the biggest jump in Inter-County - Silver. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Moshannon Valley 56-26.
Williamsburg took down Glendale 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Austin McMonagle threw for 45 yards and ran for 78 yards in the win.
Juniata Valley's dynamic duo of Caleb Taylor and Gordan Gable proved to be unstoppable against Claysburg-Kimmel, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Taylor threw for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns and Gable had 84 yards receiving. Sam Gildea helped Juniata Valley's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 43 yards.
The Hornets' dynamic duo of Taylor and Gable proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Mike Biddle was the best running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 113 yards as the Blue Pirates beat Claysburg-Kimmel.
Taylor put up the best numbers in passing as Mike Smith's team bested Gabe Walter's team.
Gable was the best receiver in the league this week as the Hornets bested the Bulldogs.
Thanks to the talents of Taylor and Jesse Claar, Juniata Valley has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Taylor leads the league in passing with 370 yards, while Claar has rushed for 296 yards this season. Williamsburg's Bryce Young leads the league in receiving yards with 177 on 10 catches.
