Leyton is four games into its season, but it hasn't met anyone harder than the team challenging it next. It and Paxton take on one another this Friday at 6:00 PM on Leyton's home turf. Leyton is still chasing that elusive W after another rough time two weeks ago.
Leyton wasn't able to scrape together any points two weeks ago, falling to Morrill 34 - 0. Senior Triston Gartner-Hume didn't go down without a fight, though. He put up some defensive resistance with 21 tackles.
Meanwhile, the state rankings suggested a blowout in Paxton's previous game, and that is exactly what happened. It took its contest against Crawford last week by a conclusive 58 - 30 score. Junior Kaden Schow was especially active in the win, finding the endzone an impressive four times. Schow has been a consistent playmaker for Paxton as this was the 4th good game in a row from him. Junior Lane Blackwell was in the mix too, providing Paxton with two touchdowns.
Leyton's defeat dropped it to 0-4 while Paxton's win brought it to 4-0. We'll find out if Paxton can snag another victory or if Leyton will turn things around for itself.
