After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wickliffe, the St. Martin de Porres Lions were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mentor Christian 69-40 on the road. St. Martin de Porres has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.
Terrance Davis was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points. He hasn't dropped below 19 points for four straight games.
St. Martin de Porres' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-6. As for Mentor Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Martin de Porres won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hawken at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Hawken will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something St. Martin de Porres surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mentor Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Lawrence Upper at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence Upper has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
