Roxana is 9-1 against Southwestern since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Shells just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Piasa Birds at 7:30 p.m. Roxana will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Roxana is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 60-41 victory over Maryville Christian on Thursday. The Shells pushed the score to 52-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Sean Maberry had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 67% from the field on his way to 27 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 50.8% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Cohen Dugan, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine steals.
Roxana smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Southwestern, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Carrollton by a score of 43-36 on Tuesday. The Piasa Birds haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Roxana better focus on containing Cason Robinson and Trenton Brackett as the pair were huge in Southwestern's win. Robinson went 6-for-10 to rack up 18 points and five rebounds, while Brackett almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Brackett a new career-high. Reed Campbell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Southwestern's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Roxana, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Roxana hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.5 points per game. It's a different story for Southwestern, though, as they've been averaging only 39.2 points. The only thing between Roxana and another offensive beatdown is the Piasa Birds. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Roxana couldn't quite finish off Southwestern in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 57-55. Will the Shells have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
