After flying high against the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals last Monday, the Page Pirates came back down to earth. Page fell 60-53 to Northwest Guilford on Tuesday. Page has not had much luck with Northwest Guilford recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Page's loss came despite strong showings from Lola Vanore and Hattie Sloyan. Vanore scored 16 points along with four steals, while Sloyan scored 15 points. Vanore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Assyria Hooper, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Page has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Northwest Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Page the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Northern Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Northern Guilford is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Northwest Guilford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ragsdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ragsdale is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
