BRADENTON, Fla. -
Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.) put an additional 21 points on the board on top of its 35-point lead going into the fourth quarter to beat out Palm Harbor University (Palm Harbor, Fla.) 47-14.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Joshua Meyer in the first quarter, the Hurricanes led 41-0 at the half.
With the win Manatee extended its winning streak to 10 games. Manatee defeated University 28-24 last week.
Meyer stood out for MHS in the win. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns, ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
The Bradenton school came into the game allowing 11.0 points per game. Palm Harbor University's 14 points were below their season average of 21.0 per game.
The loss was the third in a row for Palm Harbor University.
PHU (4-5) will play a non-conference game against Gibbs next week. The Gladiators enter the tilt sporting a 3-5 record for the season.
