The Englewood Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Sheridan at home to the tune of 71-30. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Englewood as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Englewood found their leader in underclassman Soren Singer, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Singer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Owens, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Englewood's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Sheridan, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Englewood will challenge The Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Allowing an average of 54.3 points per game, The Pinnacle has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup. Sheridan on the road again on Tuesday and play against Bruce Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Bruce Randolph is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
