Volleyball Recap: Hayden Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Hayden had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the West Pioneers.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Hayden was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-9.

Hailey Schmidtlein paced Hayden's offense, picking up ten kills. Schmidtlein got some help from Blakely Walter and her 21 assists. Walter was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hayden's victory bumped their record up to 24-7. As for West, they dropped their record down to 3-23-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Hayden and West will both be playing Lawrence Free State the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Firebirds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Pioneers will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
