West Jefferson is 2-8 against Chalmette since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the West Jefferson Buccaneers will get right back to it and host the Chalmette Owls at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th. West Jefferson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Chalmette is ranked 72nd).
On Wednesday, West Jefferson came up short against Riverdale and fell 54-42.
Despite their loss, West Jefferson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kellie Cyprian, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cyprian has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Coye McClairen, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Chalmette entered their tilt with Lakeshore with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Chalmette enjoyed a cozy 58-42 win over Lakeshore last Tuesday.
West Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Chalmette, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
