The Evansville North Huskies's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Washington Hatchets at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Evansville North, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-37 loss to Jasper. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Evansville North has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brooke Silva, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals. Maddy Knies was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of 15 wins, Washington's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. Their rough 62-42 defeat to Gibson Southern might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Washington has suffered yet this season.
Evansville North bumped their record down to 13-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Washington, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4.
Evansville North strolled past Washington when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 47-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evansville North since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
