After flying high against the West Noble Chargers last Tuesday, the Concord Minutemen came back down to earth. Concord opened the new year with a less-than-successful 46-36 loss to Goshen. Several Minutemen players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shelby Emerick, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Dominique Stilley, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Goshen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Yordy, who scored nine points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yordy has scored all season. Kyra Hill was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Goshen, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Concord will be playing in front of their home fans against Jimtown at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Jimtown is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Goshen, they will head out on the road to face off against South Bend St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
