The Calexico Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past Southwest EC 56-23 on the road. That's two games straight that Calexico has won by exactly 33 points.
Calexico found their leader in underclassman Dany Carreon, who scored 17 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Carreon has scored at least 25% of Calexico's points. Hector Gomez was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Calexico has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Southwest EC, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Calexico will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Palo Verde Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Southwest EC, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Calipatria at 7:00 p.m.
