The DuSable Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Corliss with a sharp 43-21 victory on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for DuSable.
DuSable found their leader in underclassman Lanae Harris, who scored 18 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Harris grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Damaya Plant, who scored 11 points.
DuSable's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. As for Corliss, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DuSable will square off against Air Force Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Air Force Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Corliss, they will head out on the road to face off against Harlan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Harlan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
