The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Neligh-Oakdale in their matchups with Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family: they've now lost seven in a row.
Loss or not, Neligh-Oakdale got some senior leadership from Chase Furstenau and Colson Krebs. Furstenau scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Krebs. scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 50% of Neligh-Oakdale's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Christian Rodgers, who scored six points.
Neligh-Oakdale struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Leading Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family to victory were Easton Baumgart and Owen Kurtenbach. Baumgart scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Kurtenbach scored 14 points along with seven steals. Baumgart hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Gavin Groteluschen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Neligh-Oakdale dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home. As for Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
